Anita P. Latin is honored to be the daughter of the late Pastor O.V. Latin & Lady Louella Latin, Organizer of the Mount Vernon Missionary Baptist Church in San Francisco, CA. She is the proud mother of two devoted young adults – André R. Cloud, II and Aiesha R. Cloud. Anita is the Founder, President & CEO of OVL Foundation USA – a non-profit charitable organization formed in honor of her late parents. Her aim is to proudly and diligently wear the mantle and carry the torch left by her parents whom she witnessed first-hand open their hearts, their hands and their home to those in need in the Community and take the dedicated work and the community impact to the next level!
After the passing of her father in November 2003, Anita returned to the classroom in 2004. With just an A.S. in Secretarial Training, earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, and a Master of Arts in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary. Anita received her Ministerial License on February 11, 2007, and her Ministerial Ordination on March 22, 2009. She is presently a Doctoral candidate at Berkeley School of Theology. Anita is very proud to say that she is the first college graduate in her immediate family! And she is thrilled that her children have been able to walk the journey with her and celebrate with her. She is setting the standard for her future generations with a target they must aim to reach and far surpass!
Anita has been recognized and awarded for her commitment and dedicated service in the San Francisco Bay Area where she was born and educated. Such awards include Certificate of Honor from Mayor Gavin Newsome and Supervisor Sophenia Maxwell; Excellence Award from the Macedonia Baptist Church; and the “Elect Lady” award from Bay Area Tribute. In September 2019, Anita was awarded with honors as Woman of Empowerment from Professional Organization of Women of Excellence Recognized (P.O.W.E.R.) and was listed in of their publication. Their editors were so impressed with her accomplishments, that they awarded her “Woman of the Month” and that interview was showcased in their 2019 Fall Issue. She was then recognized with the Lifetime Achievement Award in Religion, and her name and photo were posted on Times Square Billboard in New York on September 6, 2019. She is now posted on P.O.W.E.R.’s website and once again showcased in their 2020 Winter Issue. She was also showcased in the Spring 2020 Issue as a “Rising Star”.
Anita was nominated, interviewed, and accepted as a bibliography listee in the Marquis Who’s Who. She is a lifetime recipient and is featured on the front cover of their 2021 publication. What an honor and privilege for someone who’s life-long dream has never been to see her name in lights, but through her message of hope, peace, and abounding love, continue to uplift, encourage, and motivate others who have heard her story. Her gift has truly opened doors for her, and has brought her before great men (Proverbs 18:16). She owes it all to the providence of God!
During Anita’s 42-year career, she has worked at various companies in downtown San Francisco. Such companies as Bank of America, as a Machine Accountant. Standard Oil Company, as a Secretarial Relief person in the Comptroller’s Department, Lead Management Stenographer in the Foreign Operations Department, Stenographer in the Public Affairs Unit to the Manager of the Community Affairs Department, Staff Assistant to seven Project Relocation Team Members in the Computer Services Department. William M. Mercer Inc., as Administrative Assistant to Worker’s Compensation/Managed Time Loss Practice. Working Assets Long Distance, as Administrative Assistant to Vice President of Operations. And the final 20 years of her career were at Fenwick & West LLC, as a Corporate Legal Secretary.
Anita is an entrepreneur, having owned and operated A Neat Design Desktop Publishing Company. She was a Network Marketing Associate for Avon, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Traci Lynn Fashion Jewelry and now she is an executive, holding the title of Regional Coordinator for ACN. She is also the Visionary of Abounding Love Bible Ministry – a non-profit established to meet the needs of young women, youth and seniors for their physical, mental, emotional, relational, professional and spiritual development.
Anita is compelled by the passion and compassion freely flowing from her heart to those in need, reaching out on so many levels and lending a hand up. She has made sure that OVL Foundation USA has established meaningful partnerships with the Bay Area Rescue Mission, Dorothy Day House, USO, and AARP Foundation, as well as having a physical presence in the community as we go out monthly and serve the unhoused with bags of essential items such as blankets, scarves, gloves, hats, hygiene kits, COVID testing kits, first aid kits, socks, masks, hand sanitizer, toilet tissue, Kleenex, hand warmers, tarps, collapsible cups, inflatable pillows, sleeping bags, feminine products, gallons of water, a smile, word of hope, an act of kindness and a fervent prayer for those who desire it.
As long as Anita has breath in her lungs, an able body and a sound mind, she is determined to carry out the vision of this organization to “Impact the Community One Need at a Time!”
